Wisdom Teeth Removal
in Coeur d’Alene & Post Falls, ID

While there is a possibility for wisdom teeth to erupt without causing dental problems, in most cases, wisdom tooth growth makes cleaning teeth difficult or causes overcrowding. If you’re experiencing pain or overcrowding due to wisdom teeth, our team at Riverstone Dental performs in-house wisdom teeth removal with IV sedation! If you’d like to receive oral surgery in-house instead of being referred out, call our office to learn more or to schedule your visit!

Why do I have to remove my wisdom teeth?

There are some cases where wisdom teeth grow into position without causing discomfort, pain, or dental problems. While wisdom teeth can grow without issue, their location in the furthest part of the mouth can make it difficult for patients to maintain proper oral health. According to the American Dental Association, wisdom teeth should be removed if they become infected, cause damage to other teeth, or show signs of decay. At Riverstone Dental, we thoroughly examine your mouth and perform X-rays when determining if wisdom teeth extraction is beneficial to you.

What can I eat after wisdom teeth removal?

Like any other oral surgery, there are precautions to take to encourage a successful and speedy recovery. Part of the process for recovery includes being careful with what you eat. Solid or crunchy foods can irritate the recovery site and may even dislodge the blood clot, which can cause a dry socket. Typically, soft foods like yogurt, soup, or scrambled eggs are comfortable to eat after removal.

How much does wisdom teeth removal cost?

The final cost of wisdom teeth extraction will vary on how many wisdom teeth were extracted and which dental sedation aided the procedure. If you have dental insurance, dental insurance may cover a portion of the oral surgery. Our office accepts many insurance plans, and we also accept cash, check, credit cards, and FSAs and HSAs.
