CEREC crowns offer many benefits to patients who choose them over traditional dental crowns. For starters, they are designed, created, and placed all in one convenient appointment, reducing the total number of trips and costs associated with visiting our practice. There is also no need for a temporary crown; once our CEREC crowns are placed, you shouldn’t have to worry about it again for many years! Finally, our office uses an intraoral camera to design same-day dental crowns, no uncomfortable or messy putty impressions required.
The other main difference between same-day crowns and traditional crowns are the materials used. Traditional crowns can be made of metal or porcelain, while CEREC crowns are made of ceramic materials.
The first step in the process involves taking highly advanced pictures of the tooth with an intraoral camera. These pictures are then used to create a 3-D model of what your new crown will look like, and our team will make sure that it is the correct size, shape, and color to fit in with the rest of your smile. Then, your new crown will be printed, and the entire design and printing process should take less than 20 minutes. Once your tooth has been prepared, your new crown will be installed, and you are free to show off your newly restored smile!
Despite being more convenient than traditional crowns, same-day dental crowns tend to cost about the same as traditional dental crowns. Riverstone Dental Care accepts many insurance plans, and we also take cash, check, credit cards, and FSAs and HSAs. We also accept monthly payment plans through CareCredit® and employ an in-house dental plan that offers a 20% discount on restorative care and other dental treatments.
