Are you looking into straightening your smile? There are many orthodontic treatment options available today! One of our favorites is Invisalign® clear aligner therapy. Invisalign is able to correct a variety of smile flaws. It’s especially popular with adults because it gives you the confidence to continue smiling throughout the treatment process!
What Is Invisalign Clear Aligner Therapy?
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that utilizes plastic, smooth aligners to reposition teeth. Unlike traditional orthodontic methods, Invisalign offers a discreet, nearly invisible teeth straightening solution! Most patients report that their peers can’t even tell they’re wearing aligners on their teeth. Invisalign is also removable, so you can take them out when you eat and when you brush and floss your teeth. They are extremely convenient and allow patients to continue to enjoy their smiles without metal brackets and wires covering their pearly whites!
How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign uses state-of-the-art, custom-made aligner trays. The trays are designed using 3D software that maps out a treatment plan and creates the corresponding aligners. Each set of aligners is worn for up to two weeks. The aligners are designed to slowly move teeth into their desired positions. Each aligner is slightly off from the teeth’s current alignment and subsequently, the teeth slowly move to fit the new aligner. After two weeks, the aligners are traded out for the next set in the series until the teeth reach their desired end result!
What Problems Can Invisalign Correct?
Invisalign is best for patients with mild to moderate misalignment. Here are some examples of things that Invisalign can be used to correct:
